Agujas Offers Peace and Convienence

Settled next to Rio Agujas, the third largest river on the Osa Peninsula, Rio Tranquilo offers the perfect surroundings for a quiet yet secure community.

The main town of Puerto Jimenez is located just eight kilometers southeast of Agujas and offers much convenience and access. The Osa has a growing international community that is made up residents and turism. With just over 8,000 residents, the Osa still can offer the small community feel.

There have been many changes since the early stages of Rio Tranquilo. The airport has been upgraded with runway lights and new pavement. Such change includes over 12 flights a day to and from San Jose in just under 45 minutes. The pier boardwalk is currently under construction to offer a nice walking atmosphere and many new stores, banks and restaurants are in the building process.

You can enjoy the small town feel with much convenience of fully stocked grocery stores, over a dozen local restaurants, fishing excursions, internet cafes, two national banks, hardware stores and Red Cross medical clinics. Let’s not forget the main attraction which is the wildlife and National Parks.
